why global village?

A personal story why "Global Village" needs to happen - a personal glimpse from Capt. Stephen Malins in S. Africa on why he wants to come to Roots and Global Village.

Why Global Village? The Southern Africa territory is crying out for the Gospel story to be proclaimed 'unashamedly' to the country - we are a Rainbow Nation, we have a Constitution that gives 'Freedom' to all - and yet 'darkness' is so prevalent, and many of the 'old ways' are not getting the Message across.

We have resources available to setup HIV/ AIDS programs, we can do the 'community conversations' and people from overseas want to be part of the Territories work but I fear that out stated mission of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ can become a side item - sounds crazy but in all our good work I sometimes wonder if we are missing the actual reason for the good work.

Why Global Village? So that I can hear, taste and see what the bigger picture is - what is the world doing and is it having a impact? What are we doing and what can we as a Southern Africa territory do, invest in, resource, and be a part off, to ensure that we stem the tide and turn our people, especially our young people, towards a living, relevant relationship.

'Feet First' was a pivotal programe for our territory and myself - many young people in ministry today, refer back to mighty God encounters in those warfare packed times - my prayer is that Global Village will have a greater impact and we will be able to 'return, reclaim the land and proclaim Jesus'.
